Ruth Ivester, 96, of 5638 Casar Rd., Casar, went home to be with the Lord
Saturday May 28, 2016 at White Oak Manor in Shelby.

Born July 27, 1919 in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late John
O. Peeler and Mary Lee Peeler. She was a retired RN for Dr. Fred Falls and
Dr. Joe Walker. She was a member of Palm Tree United Methodist Church and
the United Methodist Women. Ms. Ivester loved to shop with her friends and
was an avid Carolina Tar Heel fan. She was very proud of her grandchildren
and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, W.D.
Ivester and one brother, Otis Peeler.

Survivors include one son & daughter-in-law, Steve & Gloria Ivester of
Lawndale; one daughter & son-in-law, Brenda & Don Melton of Casar; two
grandchildren, Tracy McNeilly Queen and Ashley Ivester Botts; three great
grandchildren; Chase McNeilly, Peyton Queen and Madison Botts; one sister,
Mae Beth Williams of Wilmington; one special sister-in-law, Marilyn Peeler
of Lawndale.

The graveside service will be 4:00PM Monday May 30, 2016 at Palm Tree United
Methodist Church Cemetery with Revs. Manuel Wortman and Cindy Nanney
officiating.

The family will receive friends after the graveside service in the
fellowship hall. At other times, the family will be at the home of Brenda &
Don Melton, 5638 Casar Rd., Casar, NC 28020.
