Shelby Police Department’s “Cop Camp” Summer Day Camp 2011
This is the 7th annual Summer Day Camp for children between the ages of 8 and 13. Camp is designed to create a positive relationship between the children of our community and our police officers. This is accomplished through fun-filled activities, field trips, and one-on-one time with each child. Officers will emphasize the importance of the four core values of “Cop Camp”, RESPECT, INTEGRITY, HONESTY, and TEAMWORK. Camp Dates, location, and times •Ages 8-10 June 27-July 1, 2011 @ Shelby City Park at 850 W. Sumter St. 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. •Ages 11-13 July 18-22, 2011 @ Shelby City Park at 850 W. Sumter St. 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. More information will be provided to the parents of kids attending camp as to the drop-off times, etc. Requirements for “Cop Camp”: •Between the ages of 8 and 13 years old. •Have daily transportation to and from camp. •Abide by the CONDUCT RULES set forth by the police officers on the first day of camp. •Handicapped and Special Needs children are welcome in camp. However, a parent or legal guardian must accompany the child each day. •Have not attended previous Cop Camp. Consideration will be given to prior campers if vacancies exist.
