Shirley "Midge" Fern Rhoades, 90, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on November 13, 2024 at her home.

She was born December 25, 1933 in Butler County, MO, daughter of the late Sherdian and Maud Kinsey Hines and was preceded in death by her beloved husband of many years, John Rhoades. She was also preceded in death by all of her brothers and sisters. Shirley was a devoted homemaker and loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed cooking wonderful meals and loving on her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Shirley was a very talented craft maker. She enjoyed crocheting and embroidery. Shirley was an avid baseball fan and a diehard San Francisco Giants fan. She was a member of TOPS weight loss group for 40 years and was a faithful friend to all those she met in her group. Shirley was always quick witted, humorous and loved making people happy. She enjoyed hosting parties for her friends and family and always placed others needs above her own. Shirley's kindness, guidance, and love will be remembered eternally by all those who knew her.

Grandchildren: Daniel Poeng (Joy), Andrew Poeng (Caroline), and Brittany Poeng
Great Grandchildren: Callie, Riley, Milo, Karis, Genevieve, and Lilia Poeng

MEMORIAL SERVICE: The family will hold a memorial service on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. John Sloan officiating
