Steve Ray Perry, 61, of 222 Old Mill Road, Shelby, passed away  Friday, March 14, 2014 at his home.

Born in Cleveland County on November 12, 1952, he was a son of the late William Samuel "Junior" Perry, Jr. and Vernie Ballard Perry.  Steve attended Double Shoals Baptist Church and retired as a cashier from Walmart.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Brint Thompson.

Steve is survived by his wife of thirty-four years, Kathy Diann Lovelace Perry; daughter, Deana Scism and husband, David of Shelby; grandchild, Jordan Hope Robinson of Shelby; a very special cousin, Kaye Dobbins and husband, David; sister-in-law, Carolyn Verley and husband, Mike of Cherryville; and niece, Jenny Verley of Cherryville.

Visitation:  The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. Monday at Stamey Funeral Home in Fallston.  A guest register is available at www.stameyfuneralhome.com.

Funeral:  The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Stamey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Brian Johnson officiating. 

Burial: Rose Hill Memorial Park in Fallston
