Thelma Elizabeth Queen
Thelma Elizabeth Queen, 83, of 1150 Hendrick Lake Road, Shelby, died Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Hospice at Wendover in Shelby.
Born November 6, 1932 in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Frank Turner and Polly Queen Turner. She was retired from BB&T as a teller after 30 years of service. Mrs. Queen was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She loved gardening, cooking for her family and friends, playing dominoes traveling and spending time at her beach home in Oak Island.
In addition to her parents she was preceded by her sister, Betty Jo Brackett.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Ralph Austin Queen; two daughters, Deborah Futch and late husband Ray of Shelby and Lynn Oliver and husband, Mark of Shelby; two grandchildren, Lindsay Oliver of Chapel Hill and Brittany Oliver of Shelby; niece, Jennifer Jones of Matthews and best friends, Bob and Carolyn Greene of Shelby.
Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Cremation Center.
Funeral Service will be 7:30 PM, Friday at Bethel Baptist Church with Dr. Timothy Sims, Rev. Max Pendleton and Dr. Wade Dellinger.
Graveside service will be 10:00 AM, Saturday at Rose Hill Memorial Park,
