Mr. Thomas Richard Cherry, 57, of 922 Casar-Belwood Road, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2011 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center, Shelby.

Richard was born in Gaston County, NC on October 7, 1954 a son of the late Thomas Cherry and Betty Mull Cherry Haze.  He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Mt. Holly and was employed with Case Farms as a poultry farmer.  Richard also served in the US Marines.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Sue Bridges Cherry, of the home; step-father Wally Haze of Statesville; four sons, Brian Cherry of Shelby, Richie Cherry of Mt. Holly, Ben Shook of Iron Station and Robert Shook of Patterson Springs; one brother, Scott Cherry of High Point; and seven grandchildren.

A Memorial service will be held at a later date at Richard’s home in Lawndale.
