Mr. Troy Edwards, 73, of Shelby passed away on September 16, 2012 at his home.  A native of Hayesville, NC, he was the son of the late William Harrison Edwards and Florence Wikle Edwards. He was a retired Chief Financial Officer of Todhunter International, West Palm Beach, FL. He enjoyed sharing time with his grandchildren.  He also loved Disney, fishing, yard work and music.

He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Edwards Zanon and Mary Josephine Edwards Brabble and Tyna Lou Edwards;  and six brothers, Wayne, Ralph, Vaughn, Claude, Roy & Paul Edwards.

He is survived by his wife, Gail G. Edwards; a niece/daughter, Mary Ruth Zanon Dixon and a son-in-law, Rev. Keith Dixon; step children, Lynn Gordon Hughes & husband, Randy, Sharpsburg, GA, Billy G. Gordon, Jr. & wife, Hey Ja of Seoul, South Korea and Gary Neil Gordon & wife, Crystal of Shelby;  grandchildren, Jeremy Keith Dixon & wife, Melea, Durham, Jacob Zanon Dixon, Charlotte, Jennifer Hughes Campbell  & husband, Pete, Kenny Hughes, Tova Gordon Hardy  & husband, Donnie, all of GA, Branden Lee Gordon & Mason Troy Gordon of Shelby; great grandchildren, Preston Campbell and Tila Hardy of GA.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Wednesday, September 19, 2012,  Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church at 6:30 pm.  Rev. Keith Dixon, Dr. Eric Davis and Rev. Rick Variale.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to: The Greater Cleveland County Baptist Association 1175 Wyke Rd., Shelby, NC 28150
