Willard L. Yarborough, Sr., age 73, resident of 506 Gantt Street, Kings Mountain, NC died April 6, 2014 at Kings Mountain Hospice House.   He was born in Haywood Co, NC to the late Robert Theodore Yarborough.  He was also preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Yarborough and sister, Nancy Yarborough.  Mr. Yarborough was retired from YC Ballinger as a high tension lineman and also retired from Kings Mountain Fire Department.  He also  formerly served on the Waynesville Volunteer Fire Department.  In recent years, he owned and operated a lawn service.    He graduated from Waynesville Township High School.   Mr. Yarborough enjoyed working on cars, wood working, and talking to his friends and neighbors.   

SURVIVORS: Sons: Willard L. Yarborough, Jr. and wife Teresa, Kings Mtn. NC; James Mattison Yarborough and wife Tina, Tiger, GA; Mark Dean Yarborough and wife Dora, Waynesville, NC; Daughters: Angel Stone Lovelace and Farrell, Kings Mtn. NC; Anita Yarborough Moore and Robert Willetts, Waynesville, NC; Mother: Laura Bell Parris Yarborough, Waynesville, NC; Brother: John Yarborough and wife Effie, Waynesville, NC; 14 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren; His Dog: Pony; Numerous nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL SERVICE WITH FIREMAN’S HONORS: Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel, Saturday, April 12, 2014; 2:00 P.M.  Rev. Bob Hope, officiating.

VISITATION: 7:00 – 9:00 P.M. Friday evening, April 11, 2014 at Harris Funeral Home, Kings Mountain, North Carolina other times at the home of the son, 102 Majesty Place, Kings Mountain, NC.

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, North Carolina
