Anita Faye Brackett Atkins, 55, of 957 Arbor Drive #1, Lawndale, died
Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Hospice at Wendover in Shelby.
Born October 6, 1958 in Rutherford County, Tennessee, she was a daughter of
Johnny Ray Brackett and the late Jacquelyne Carpenter Brackett. She worked
for Crest High School as the ISS Director. Anita devoted 41 years of her
life to the military as her father and husband both served our country.
In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly
Raye Brackett.
In addition to her father, Anita is survived by her husband of 33 years,
Eddie Wayne Atkings; two sons, Brad Atkins and wife, Ashley of Raleigh and
Brent Atkins and wife, Rebecca of Marietta, Georgia; daughter, Pasha Goodman
and husband, Chad of Benbrook, Texas; five grandchildren, Grant, Grady and
Graham Goodman, Aurora and Helena Atkins; and brother, William "Bill"
Brackett of Hickory.
Visitation: 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston.
Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Saturday at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, Shelby
Officiating: Dr. Eric Davis
