This year’s Cleveland County fairgoers may indulge in all of the delights of the fair while taking steps to protect their health at the same time! The Cleveland County Health Department will be administering flu shots for anyone 9 years of age or older at the fair on Thursday, September 27th - Saturday, September 29th from 5:00pm - 8:00pm in Dorton Exhibit Hall.
The Woman’s Club annual Fall Festival will be Wednesday, October 17, 108 E. Mtn. Street in Kings Mountain. Turkey or ham with all the trimmings will be served from 11:30-1:30 and 5:30-7:00 pm, eat in or take out. Adult tickets are $10 or children 12 and under, $6.
The City of Kings Mountain will host the 10th annual "Gateway Festival" on Saturday, October 6 from 10:00AM until 6:00PM throughout the downtown area. This community event is a celebration of Kings Mountain music, art, history and culture.
Kings Mountain was designated in 2000 as "The Gateway City” by the Department of Interior and the National Park Service to all three area parks- Crowder's Mountain State Park, Kings Mountain State Park and Kings Mountain National Military Park.
Our week #3 Shelby Shopper & Info Football Contest winner was Brandon Campbell of Ellenboro. Brandon said he’s been playing our contest for only three weeks and he’s a New York Giants fan.

I believe that if you were around Apostle Peter, he would be asking you questions. There is no better person to ask a question, than Jesus.
It came up in conversation at the dinner table last Sunday, that I never taught my son, who is twenty-eight years old, to fold laundry. I can’t deny it because he really doesn’t know how! At least that’s his story and he’s stickin’ to it.

William “Bill” Earl Ross 73, died September 24, 2012 at Hospice in Shelby. Bill was a loving husband, caring father, and doting grandfather. He will be missed.

The Cleveland County Bass Club has fished two events, and with the problems I have had with email, I miss them. Lake High Rock was the first event, Roger Beaver got the win with 8.36 followed by John Rankin with 7.58. Jimmy Melton was third with 5.34,
Miles Burghoff
Miles Burghoff of Orlando, Fla., had a two-day total of 10 bass that weighed 36 pounds, 9 ounces to win the Walmart Bass Fishing League North Carolina Division Super Tournament on the High Rock Lake Sunday, Sept. 23rd. For his victory, Burghoff earned $4,604.
Eight year old, John Anderson got his first 3 point Buck on September 18th using a crossbow.
