Meredith and Jakob Diebold were bundled up while at the Foothills Farmers Market in Shelby on Saturday, January 24th. The frigid days we've been having in Cleveland County is making everyone wear many layers of clothes.

Gary Wyatt Millsaps, 81, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on January 27, 2026 at Robin Johnson House in Dallas, NC.

Heath Denton Hovis, 80, of Deerfield Road, Shelby passed away on January 27, 2026 at Atrium Health - Cleveland.

What: National Trails Day Hike with the C.A.R.E. Dogs

Where: The Gateway Trail, 807 S. Battleground Ave., Kings Mountain, NC.

Where: Belwood Heritage Museum, 133 Carpenter's Grove Church Rd., Lawndale, NC.
More Info: On display are antique farm equipment and tools, furniture, household items, pictures, and numerous miscellaneous items of interest from rural life in the late 1800's/early 1900's, all donated by members of the local community. Admission is free.
