Arthur Haretos
Arthur Haretos, 74, went home to the Lord on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Louis and Ann Haretos. He was retired from the Coca-Cola Company and was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church.

Art never met a stranger and was quick to share a contagious smile and a helping hand. He enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved his family; good food; the Pittsburgh Steelers; World War II history; road trips; music; and planes, trains, and automobiles.

He wed his wife, Donna Schulz Haretos, in 1965 and they enjoyed all 47 years they shared together.

Survivors include his wife, Donna; their daughters, Chrisi (David) Bollinger of Knoxville, Tennessee and Heidi (Stephen) Maskol of Gastonia; sister, Helen Kostreva of Pittsburgh; sister-in-law, Karen (Bruce) Long of Shelby; and a host of extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at 3:00 pm at Ascension Lutheran Church in Shelby. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Ascension Lutheran Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
