Betty Cook Burgin, 94 of Rockdale Road, Lawndale, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024 at Atrium Health - Cleveland, Shelby.

Born in Cleveland County, NC on June 17, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Dixon Cicero Cook and Effie Mae Lail Cook. She was a retired photographer and was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, D.C. Cook.

Survivors include a son, Joe Burgin and wife, Leigh of Terrell; a daughter, Donna Love of Lawndale; three grandchildren, Dana Everhart and husband, Michael, Danny Love and Joseph Burgin; four great-grandchildren, Preston Love, Adalie Everhart, Rhett Everhart and Amaya Moore; five sisters, Christeen Cook of Shelby, Ida Nell Wilson of Lincolnton, Diane Sain of Vale, Bryte Benfield of Morristown, TN and Mary Lou Cook of Vale.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Chris Decker officiating.
