Mrs. Betty Sue Williams Fortenberry, 78 of 613 N. Dixie Street passed away August 6, 2013 at Carolina Care Center.

Born November 6, 1934 in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Charles Bynum Williams and Cythia Edna Blanton Williams.  She was a homemaker and a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church where she worked in the nursery and the hospitality committee for many years.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Avery Williams.

Mrs. Fortenberry is survived by her husband of 47 years, Carroll “Red” Franklin Fortenberry; a God daughter, Cindy Hoyle and husband, Vic of Cherryville; a niece, Jenny Costner and husband, Grady Costner, Jr. of Shelby; and special grandchildren, Steven D. Hoyle and Melissa Hoyle.

Visitation will be 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, Friday at Stamey~Cherryville Funeral Home, Cherryville.  At other times the family will be at the home of Cindy and Vic Hoyle, 1118 Cherryville Hwy, Cherryville.

Graveside Service: 11:00 AM, Friday at Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Tim Robbins officiating.
