Bible Study: I Know Whom I Have Believed
Do you know in whom you have believed? If you answered yes and your answer is Jesus, then you are up in the ranks with Paul, who wrote a good portion of the Bible. My mind brings to remembrance that Paul was at one time Saul of Tarsus.  He was killing Christians. God changed Saul on the road to Damasus and he became Paul. The Lord knew that Paul was going to need some help for the job that lay before him. God sent Anninas to Paul’s home to provide strength for what he was going to face. Anninas prayed for Paul and he received the Holy Ghost Baptism. The scales were removed from Paul’s eyes and he now had the strength for what lay ahead, even death, if that was part of God’s plan. Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 4:6, “ For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.”
The 2nd Epistle to Timothy was written from Rome while Paul was in prison. Paul was brought before Nero for the second time and wavered not. History tells us that his head was severed from his body. History has a way of repeating itself as many faithful warriors have lost their lives because of whom they believed. Although they lost their lives, their soul is alive and well in the presence of our Almighty God. Paul also continued in 2 Timothy 4:7-8, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”
There is no time to “play” church. Jesus says that all the true believers that have been reborn ARE the church that He died for and will come again to receive unto Him. Whom have you believed in? Is your trust and hope in the Lord? Our home is in Heaven but our purpose is here on Earth.  Seek the will of Him in “whom you have believed”.
