Charles Preston Cook age 81 died Tuesday July 14, 2015 at Cleveland Pines. Born in Cleveland County on December 30, 1933 he was the son of late Rev. M. B. and Marie Moore Cook. Charles was a member of Charity Baptist Church where he served as a trustee, Sunday School Teacher and former Sunday School Superintendent. Charles served in the Army during the Korean War. He worked at Minette Mills as a fixer for a number of years. He enjoyed traveling and was a Jack of all Trades. In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by two brothers, three children, and two grandchildren.

Charles is survived by his wife Lillian Richards Cook; three daughters, Rhonda Williams and Linda Cook both of Gastonia and Angela Cook of Shelby; a brother, Floyd Cook of Earl; eleven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Charity Baptist Church with Rev. Kyeth Lindsay and Rev. David Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 from 5:00 pm until 6:30 pm at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory.
