What: Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Where: Green Bethel Baptist Church, 120 Bethel Ave., Boiling Springs, NC.
More Info: Ribbon-cutting Ceremony for our new Commodities Building. Town Officials and Donors will be present at this event. Light-fare food and desserts will be served.

What: VBS Kick-Off
When: 2:00 pm, June 6.
Where: Lily Memorial Baptist Church, 406 Whitener St., Shelby, NC.
More Info: Lily Memorial will have pre-registration and kick-off for VBS, June 6 at 2:00 pm. VBS June 8 - June 11. Join us for the fun.

When: 5:30 pm, June 8-11, Monday - Wednesday.
Where: Lily Memorial Baptist Church, 406 Whitener St., Shelby, NC.
More Info: Beginning each night at 5:30 with a meal. Classes, crafts, music and recreation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Come and bring your friends.

Saturday, June 13
What: Baked Potato & Salad Bar Fundraiser
When: 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm or until sold out, June 13.
Where: Hopewell-Hollis Ruritan Club, 2500 Hollis Rd., Ellenboro, NC.
More Info: All proceeds go to help those in need. Please come out and support us, our neighbors and the surrounding communities. Cost-$8 per adult, children 7 & under free, carryouts available. For more information or carry-outs please call Cindy @ 704-692-0724.

What: BBQ Pork Fundraiser

Where: New Prospect Baptist Church, 1960 New Prospect Church Rd., Shelby, NC.
More Info: Dine in or take out. Meal includes BBQ, Slaw, Sauce, Baked Beans, French Fries, Bun, Pickles, Beverage & Desserts. All proceeds will go to support Madison Gardner's mission trip to South Africa. Price of meal is donations (Suggested donation $10 or more per plate).

What: Emerald Crossing VBS
When: 5:30 pm until 8:00 pm, June 15-19,.
Where: Prospect Baptist Church, 2610 Prospect Church Rd., Mooresboro, NC.
More Info: Meal will be from 5:30 to 6 pm. Bible School from 6 to 8 pm. All are invited! At Emerald Crossing VBS, kids will journey through Ireland's lush landscapes, exploring the powerful words of Psalm 23. They'll discover the life of the shepherd-king David and will learn how to cross from anxiety to peace, from fear to faith, and from uncertainty to a firm foundation in God's Word through a relationship with the Good Shepherd.

Nar-Anon Support Group: Meets 6:30 pm weekly on Tuesdays at the First Baptist Church, 120 N. Lafayette St., Shelby, NC. Nar-Anon is a support group for those affected by someone else's drug addiction. We meet in the classroom of Dale St., between Sumter and Campbell St. Park on the side of the church or in the alley. Al-Anon Family Groups Support: Al-Anon Family Support Groups support those who are affected by someone else's drinking and drug use. No Name AFG meets on Mondays at 12 noon at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, 510 W Sumter St., Shelby. Contact Kay at 704-473-4891. Shelby AFG meets on Thursdays at 8:00 pm at Shelby Presbyterian Church, 226 E. Graham St., Shelby. Contact Jann at 704-692-7688.
