Mr. Danny Michael Smith of Shelby was born March 05, 1964 in Fort Monroe, Virginia. He departed this life on December 25, 2014 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.
He is survived by his parents, Donald and Paula Smith of Shelby; three daughters, Heather Clemons (Anthony) of Utica, NY, Kelly Smith of Shelby and Emily Smith of Grover; one son, Micheal Smith of Grover; four grandchildren, Devon Beam, Anastacia Clemons, Haley Beam and Nathaniel Clemons; two brothers, Dennis Smith (Wendy) of Grover and Richard Smith (Beth) of Raleigh, NC; his beloved German Sheppard, Rex, as well as a host of relatives and friends.
Danny was a Paramedic with Gaston County EMS, Kings Mountain Rescue, a former member of Grover Rescue and Fire Department and Antioch Fire Department. He enjoyed White Water Rafting, Camping, Fantasy Football and working on cars and lawnmowers.
A service will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 3:00 P.M. at Bethany Baptist Church, 723 Cleveland Avenue, Grover, NC 28073 with Pastor Scott Hardin and Reverend Jeff Hicks officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Grover Cemetery, 207 Bethlehem Church Rd, Grover, NC.
