Dorothy Louise Foster Hullender

Dorothy Louise Foster Hullender, age 88, passed away on March 17, 2015 at McLeod Hospice, after a long struggle with dementia. She was born and lived her entire life in Kings Mountain, NC until she moved to Florence, SC in 2008 where she lived at the Presbyterian Home. She was predeceased by her parents John and Stelle McEntire Foster, her husband of 45 years, Neil Edward Hullender who retired from Lithium Corporation, her sister Betty Foster Berry and step-sister Lucille Putnam. Before moving to South Carolina she was employed as personnel director with Sadie Mills in Kings Mountain for more than 30 years. After her retirement from Sadie Mills she then worked for H & R Block in Kings Mountain, NC for 20 years. She enjoyed working with people and numbers. She also enjoyed learning new things. She was an excellent seamstress. She made many of her clothes and tailored sports coats. She enjoyed baking and loved to try new recipes. She loved traveling with Willard's Tours and her dear friend Melba Boyles and together they traveled to all 50 states. She loved her dog - Ginger, some people said Ginger was like her third child. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Kings Mountain, where she was a member of The Ruth Sunday School Class.

SURVIVORS: Son: Keith E. Hullender and wife Sandy, Fayetteville, NC; Daughter: Patsy H. Stokes and husband Hunter, Florence, SC; Sisters: Martha Adams, Kings Mtn. NC; Shirley Sipes, Gastonia, NC; Brother: John W. Foster, Jr. and wife Maxine, Darlington, SC; Brother-in-law: Doug Hullender, Dallas, NC; Sister-in-law: Kay Sexton, Kings Mtn. NC; 5 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Grandchild; Many nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel, Friday, March 20, 2015; 11:00 A.M. Dr. John Sloan, officiating.

VISITATION: 9:30 - 10:30 A.M. Friday, March 20, 2015 prior to the service at Harris Funeral Home, Kings Mountain, North Carolina

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, North Carolina.
