Edith Marie Hudson Wortman, 92 of Fallston Road, Lawndale, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2024 at her residence.

Born in Cleveland County, NC on January 31, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Hudson and Mozelle Crotts Hudson. Mrs. Wortman was a member of Friendly Chapel Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul James Wortman; son, Philip Wortman; five brothers, Dwight, Larry, Hugh, Dan and Don Hudson; two sisters, Faye Willis and Colleen Bowman and a special friend, Paul Horne.

Survivors include her son, James Wortman and wife, Dianne of Fallston; daughter, Kathy Beaver and husband, Keith of Shelby; daughter-in-law, Sammi Wortman Bailes of Shelby; six grandchildren, Karen Milling, Jason Wortman, Joshua Wortman and Angie, Jacob Wortman and wife, Ashley, Kristy Hurdt and Kyle Beaver; five great-grandchildren, Alaina Milling, Austin Milling, Cassie Wortman, Miles Wortman and Emma Hurdt; four brothers, Richard Hudson of Vale, Jerry Hudson of Vale, Harvey Hudson, Jr. of Casar, Joe Hudson of Vale and James Pruitt of Casar; six sisters, Dian Bradshaw of Casar, Nancy Luckadoo of Casar, Dorothy McCurry of Dirty Ankle, Brenda Greene of Lawndale, Della Mae Ledford of Lawndale and Gerri Canipe of Hickory; a special friend, Jessica Brackett and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 17, 2024 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Friendly Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Norris Willis and Rev. Tom Runyon officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the Friendly Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
