Gregory "Jimbo" Pennington, 56, of 130 Woody Road, passed away on Sunday October 8, 2023, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born in Gaffney, SC, he was the son of Grover Pennington and Carol Ruppe Pennington. Jimbo worked as a carpenter and was known as the best around. He loved to work, spend time with his family, riding motorcycles, watching sports, and enjoyed riding his baby on the four wheeler. He was also an avid fan of the South Carolina Gamecocks.

Surviving Mr. Pennington are his mother, Carol Ruppe Pennington of Blacksburg, significant other, Angela McGraw of Blacksburg, sons, Gregory Pennington, Jr., Mason Pennington, and Kason Pennington, all of Blacksburg, daughter, Brianna Pennington of Gaffney, five grandchildren, brother, Ricky (Wendy Kirby) Pennington, of Gaffney, stepson, Tommy McGraw, of Blacksburg, two stepdaughters, Kerra (Bryson Camp) McGraw and Lilly Rivers of Blacksburg. special brother, Brian (Hannah) Upchurch, of Blacksburg. Mr. Pennington is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and friends that loved and cared for him dearly.

In addition to his father, Gregory was preceded in death by a sister, Lorrie Manning and brother, Timothy W. Pennington.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 12, 2023 from 5:00 pm - 6:00pm, at Gordon Mortuary of Blacksburg, 400 W. Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, SC 29702, services to follow in the chapel with the Pastor Ricky Pridmore, officiating.

The family will be at their respective homes.
