Janet Frances Dixon Swann

Janet Frances Dixon Swann, 73,of Shelby, passed away April 17, 2016 at
Hospice at Wendover.

Born October 18, 1942 in Cleveland County to the late Everett Dixon and Rea
Browing Dixon Beaver. She was retired after 23 years of service from Shelby
Elastic and was a cashier at Alston Bridges Barbecue. Janet was a member of
Eastside Baptist Church where she was a greeter. She was a former volunteer
for Hospice Cleveland County. Janet enjoyed baking and one of her passions
were making sourdough bread and for each loaf she tried to touch someone's
life by giving it to friends, family and associates. Janet fought her
cancer very hard to help others with cancer so she could be an inspiration
and lead them in the right direction.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by the love of her life
of 16 years, Jim Swann and a brother, Everett "Poochie" Dixon.

Survivors include three sons and a daughter, Jimmy Wellmon and wife,
Jeanette; Debbie Holmes and husband, Walter; Tim Wellmon and wife, Lori and
Eddie Wellmon all of Shelby; sister, Connie Hamrick of Shelby; six
grandchildren, Keith Wellmon, Alison Wellmon, Chris Holmes, Clint Wellmon,
Ethan Wellmon and Cole Wellmon; three great-grandchildren, C.J., Logan and
Scottlyn Holmes; special babies, Dusty, Tinker and Panda and special
friends, David Clay and Bill Hamrick.

Visitation will be 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Wednesday at Eastside Baptist
Church.

The funeral service will be 3:00 PM on Wednesday at Eastside Baptist Church
with Rev. Dale Byrd officiating.

Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park
