SHELBY - Mr. Jerold Dean Ashley, Jr. of Lawndale, 61, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Wendover Hospice of Shelby. He is predeceased by his parents, Jerold Dean Ashley, Sr. and Edith Scism Ashley.

He is survived by his daughter, Jill Ann Newton of Newport News, VA; one sister, Christine Blanton of Lawndale; one nephew, Phillip Wright of Lawndale; numerous cousins and his beloved dog, Dixie.

Jerold worked for Doran Mills and Baldor Electric of Kings Mountain.

A celebration of life will be held 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 15, 2016 with a visitation immediately following at Christian Fellowship Church, Lawndale, NC with the Rev. Loyd Hunt and Rev. Jackie Price officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Christian Fellowship Church building fund, P.O. Box 303, Fallston, NC 28042 or Wendover Hospice, 953 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28150.
