Jerry "Boss" Allen Young, 72 of Hwy 18, Vale, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at VA Hospital - Asheville.

Born in Burke County, NC on October 31, 1951, he was the son of the late Charlie Young and Eva Irene Hudson Young. Jerry was employed by Tri County Grill and was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. He served in the US Army during Vietnam.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil Young (Ann) and Richard Young; sisters, Ann Young and Linda Lail (Tom) and a nephew, Donnie Lail.

Survivors include his sister, Glenda Young of Hickory; nieces, Angie Heavner (Bryan) of Hickory, Patricia Young of Cherry Grove, SC, Tammy Anglin (Kent) of Burnsville, Deana Hallman (Josh) of Bostic, Pam Young and Lisa Young both of Lenoir; nephews, Allan Young (Sheree) of Hickory and Ronnie Lail of Connelly Springs; numerous great-nieces and nephews; special friends, Robin Deviney and husband, Max of Casar, Jody Seagle of Connelly Springs, Joni Moore and family of Connelly Springs, Randy Bradshaw and wife, Robin and their son, Jonas of Connelly Springs and a special buddy, Nicolas Regan of Vale. Also surviving are his Tri County family.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 12, 2024 from 11:00AM to 12:00Noon at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held Monday, February 12, 2024 at 12:00Noon at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home with the Rev. Allan Barlow and Rev. Stoney Kanupp officiating.

The burial will follow the service in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Fallston.
