Johney Franklin Hunsinger, 88, of Park Circle, Forest City, died on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at SECU Hospice House of Rutherford County. A native of Rutherford County, he was born on June 01, 1926, a son of the late James Lee Hunsinger and Maudie Jo Holland Hunsinger. He was retired from the Textile Industry and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Flossie McKinney; three brothers, Charlie Hunsinger, Jim Hunsinger, and Joe Hunsinger; two sisters, Bell Price and Mary Bland. He is survived by one son, Donald Norman and wife Ann of Shiloh; two daughters, Patsy Hunsinger Bradley and husband Jerry of Forest City and Vera “Vicki” Hunsinger Hill and companion Anthony of Forest City; one sister, Cordie Skipper of Shiloh; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild. He is also survived by his beloved pet, “Tiny”.
A Celebration of Johney’s Life will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at the A.C. McKinney Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Leon Brown and Connie Jennsion officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00pm-3:00pm on Sunday at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Jerry and Patsy Bradley, Park Circle, Forest City.
