Mrs. Katherine Royster Burgin, 59, of 901 W. Marion Street, Shelby, NC, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2010. Services were held at First Baptist Church, Shelby. Burial followed in Sunset Cemetery.
Mrs. Burgin was preceded in death by her father, David Wythe Royster, Jr.
She is survived by her husband, Robert “Bobby” Erwin Burgin of Shelby, NC; her mother, Katherine “Sister” Quinn Mabry of Shelby; 1 daughter, Quinn Burgin Saleeby and husband Wil; 1 granddaughter; 1 sister, Lynn Roach and husband Tommy and their 4 children of Raleigh, NC; 1 brother, David W. Royster III and wife Sally and their 2 sons of Shelby, NC; 1 step-brother, Tripp Mabry and wife Susan and their 3 daughters of Shelby, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: a scholarship fund that will be established in her memory at Shelby High School, 230 East Dixon Blvd., Shelby, NC 28150.
