Lefoy "Foy" Edwin Southards, 89, of Lawndale, passed away Tuesday, October
20, 2015 at White Oak Manor in Shelby.

He was born in Cleveland County on November 5, 1925 to the late Burgin
Southards and Mamie Pritchard Southards. Foy was retired from Fiber
Industries, and was a member of Fallston Baptist Church, Lawndale Masonic
Lodge #486, VFW, and the Lawndale American Legion. He also served in the US
Army During World War II in the European Theater where he received a purple
heart.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, David
Southards and brother Jack Southards.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-nine years Annie Sue Hoyle Southards;
son, Eddie Southards and wife Kathy of Sanford; daughter, Susan Canipe and
husband Larry of Lattimore; three grandchildren, Andy Southards, Brian
Canipe, and Luke Canipe; and five great grandchildren, Jackson Canipe, Libby
Canipe, Kateley Canipe, Maxie Clarie Canipe and Courtney Quinton.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at
Fallston Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.

The celebration of life service will be held on Friday at 3:00 p.m. at
Fallston Baptist Church with the Revs. David Blanton and Jerry Welch
officiating.
