Mack Emerson Wright

Mr. Mack Emerson Wright, 78, of 300 S. Elm St., passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2013 at Hospice at Wendover.

Mack was born in Mecklenburg County, NC on December 22, 1934 a son of the late Robert Emerson Wright and Mary Ruth Martin Wright.  He was retired after 37 years with Carolina Freight Carriers Corporation as a Senior Claims Investigator and was a longtime member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.  Mack proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.

In addition to his parents Mack was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Helen Wright; a daughter, Jeannie Kloseck; a sister, Ruth Cadieu and a brother, Robert Lewis Wright.

Survivors include his wife, Beth Beam Wright, of the home; a son Mack C. Wright of ­­­­­Cherryville; a step daughter, Guyann B. Fraley of Cherryville; a brother Johnny Wright and wife Tonya of Cherryville; four grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and special friends Harry Carroll and Max Dellinger.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice at Wendover for their care and compassion.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 from 12:45 until 1:45pm at Shady Grove Baptist Church Family Life Center. 

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00PM Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Shady Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Keith Hollar and Dr. Eric Childers officiating.

Burial will be in Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Cherryville American Legion Post 100 Honor Guard.
