Malcolm Lloyd Wallace
Malcolm Lloyd Wallace, age 84 of Roy Eaker Rd passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Wendover Hospice in Shelby. He was born October 28, 1933 in Cleveland County to the late Charlie Lee Wallace and Lizzie Hoyle Wallace Carroll. Lloyd was a faithful member of First Wesleyan Church. He had a passion for singing and sang with The Fisher Quartet. He retired after 40 years from Carolina Freight. Lloyd was an avid bowler and a member of the Senior League Bowling at Pin Station in Hickory. He enjoyed mowing the yard and his favorite pastime was sitting out on the carport enjoying the outdoors. Lloyd's other hobbies included rabbit hunting, running the rabbit dogs, cutting wood, and gardening.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Jackie Wallace; daughter, Sherry Roberson; and siblings, Warren, Charles, and Glenn Wallace and Aileen Bess.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Juanita Goode Wallace; children, Pam Morgan and husband, Mark, Chris Wallace, Danny Thomas and wife, Renee, and LeNita Painter and husband, Rocky; eleven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; baby sister, Shirley Barnette; sisters-in-law, Shirley Fisher (Madison), Doris Ruppe, and Carolyn Kinney (John); dog, Sugar; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 23, 2018 at 1:00 PM at First Wesleyan Church with Rev. Mark B. Poe officiating. Burial will follow at City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Lloyd and Juanita.
