Margaret Norman Smith, age 92, went home to be with the Lord on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2014.  Formerly of Grover, NC but currently residing in Kings Mountain.  Mrs. Smith was born on January 27, 1922 in the Antioch Community near Grover, NC to the late Jimmy Robert and Julia Morris Norman.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Travis C. Smith, a well respected General Contractor. 

She was the only sibling of her family still living, preceded in death by each of her brothers and sisters: Max Norman, Roy Norman, Summie Norman, Lester Norman, James Norman, Mary Reed Norman Conner, Pauline Norman Watterson, and Ruby Norman Huskey. 

SURVIVORS: Son: Jerry Smith and wife Janet, Las Cruces, NM

Daughter: Janet Smith Hayes and husband Ted Hayes, Kings Mtn. NC

Grandchildren: Travis Patterson, Kings Mtn. NC

Mollie Patterson Green and husband Brian, Kings Mtn. NC

Great Grandchildren: Lexie and Maggie Green (Maggie being named for her beloved “Grandmama”) and Matthew Smith, San Jose, CA

Step-Grandchild and Step-Great Grandchildren: Heather Hayes Clucus and husband Matt, Zack Hayes and Chloe Hayes, all of Kings Mtn. NC

The family greeted guests following the graveside service at Clingman’s Memorial Gardens, Blacksburg, South Carolina and also received friends and family at the home located at 102 Chadwick Drive, Kings Mountain, North Carolina  

Dr. Steve Taylor officiated the service.
