| FOREST CITY - Marilynn Wilkie Thompson Valdez, 60, of Scruggs Road, Forest City, died on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at SECU Hospice House of Rutherford County. A native of Rutherford County, she was born on June 14, 1952, a daughter of the late Lynn C. and Grace Lee Henson Wilkie. She worked for Perdue Farms of Concord and was a member of Prospect Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Cruz Valdez; one son, David Franklin Weese and wife Kimber of Virginia; one brother, Steve Wilkie and wife Vickie of Cliffside; one granddaughter, Olivia Weese of Virginia; special friend, Cheryl Anderson of Forest City.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4:00pm on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Prospect Baptist Church with the Rev. Ernie Cole officiating. The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service.
