SHELBY-Marjorie "Margie" Horne, 85, died Monday, April 6, 2015, at White Oak Manor of Rutherfordton. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late John Boyd and Alma Marsh Mahaffee. Margie retired from Fiber after 26 years of employment. She was an active member of her beloved Bethel Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Horne; son, Mark Horne; grandson, Ryan Washburn; sisters, Inez Tate and Lois Taylor; brother, J.B. and Perry Mahaffee

She is survived by her son, Kevin Horne and wife Karen of Macon, NC; daughter, Terry McIntyre and husband Ted of Richmond Hill, GA, and Denise Sullens and husband Barry of Shelby; sisters, Rosemary Bailey of Rutherfordton, and Joyce Beason and husband Bill of Gaffney; grandchildren, Greg McIntyre and wife Stefanie, Kristen and Amanda McIntyre, Jessica Alberici and husband Danny, Shirley McIntyre, Jonathan Horne and wife Blair, Graham Horne, Jeremy Horne and wife Christina, Nicholas Washburn and wife Jessica, Natasha Coan and husband Dennis, and Kaitlyn Miller and husband Jered; 10 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:30 p.m., Thursday, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home, and other times at the home of her daughter, Denise Sullens, 3011 Fieldstone Lane, Shelby.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, at Bethel Baptist Church, with Dr. Tim Sims officiating.

Burial will be at Cliffside Cemetery.
