Marvin James Wray

Blacksburg -- Marvin James Wray, 83, of 265 Wren Wray Road, passed away Saturday, April 14th, 2018, at his home.

Born in Blacksburg, he was the widower of Dorothy Hazel Cash Wray and the son of the late Garnett "Jake" Wray and Bessie Wisher Wray. Mr. Wray retired as a Co-Owner/Operator of M&W Clearing and was a veteran of the US Army.

Mr. Wray is survived by one daughter, Tina Wray, of Blacksburg; one brother, Kenneth Wray and wife, Judy, of Blacksburg; one sister, Margie Ledbetter of Shelby, NC; four grandchildren, Brandon Wray, Timothy Pennington, Cheyenne Carter, and Marah Cash; and four nephews, Jim and John Billings and Michael and Ricky Ledbetter.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Colleen Billings.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 17th, 2018, from 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm at Gordon Mortuary, 400 West Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, South Carolina 29702. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 18th, 2018 at 2:30 pm at Gordon Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Gregg Martin and Rev. Lucky Earls officiating. Interment will follow at Clingman Memorial Gardens. Jim Billings, Jerry Blankenship, Timothy Pennington, Billy Knight, Calvin White, Eric Billings, and Dickie Moorhead will serve as pallbearers.

The family will be at the residence.
