Mitchell Craig Byars, 63, of Blacksburg, passed away on June 23, 2024 at his residence.

Mitchell was born October 17, 1960. He was the husband of Lori Dover Byars for 43 years and the son of the late Harry Ezell "Dude" and Velda Patterson Byars. Mitchell retired from UPS (formerly Overnight) after 35+ years.

Mitchell was a big sports fan, loved the Carolina Gamecocks, and cooking for family and friends. Mitchell's barbecue was unmatched. His greatest joy was spending time with his granddaughters.

Mitchell is survived by his wife, Lori; his children, Cameron (Crystal) Byars and Courtney (Luke) Proctor; his grandchildren, Kaileigh Byars, Mallorie Proctor, Selah Proctor, and Skyla Proctor; his siblings, Iris (Billy Joe) Cobb, Pernell Byars, and Scott (Lorie Ann) Byars, and a host of family and lifelong friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary, 400 West Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, SC. Funeral services will be private.

At the request of the family, please wear Carolina Gamecock attire or colors.
