Mitchell Garry Franklin, age 67 of Shelby, passed away Monday, June 5, 2023.

He was born August 21, 1955, in Cleveland County to the late Irvin Franklin and Ruth Gettys Franklin. Mitchell served in the United States Army and was a machinist by trade.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 26 years, Lila Kate Beaty Franklin; and daughter, Kim Grindstaff.

Survivors include his siblings; Dwight Franklin (Lynn), Aloir Hunt (Scott), and Ava Franklin; children; Misty Smith and Nelson Grindstaff; fiancé, Janie Craig; and 9 grandchildren.

A private interment will be held at Rose Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.
