Peggy Lorene Owens

Blacksburg -- Peggy Lorene Owens, 83, of 107 Crescent Circle, passed away Thursday, August 30th, 2018, at Physical Rehab and Wellness Center.

Born in Gaffney, she was the wife of Buddy Owens and the daughter of the late James and Geneva Smith. Peggy loved her home, fishing with her friends Ken and Judy Wray, and working in her flower garden. She retired from textiles and was a member of the Tabernacle of Love.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Owens is survived by two sons, Alvin "Hair Bear" Moss and wife, Sandy, of Gaffney and Tony Moss and wife, Angie, of Blacksburg; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Brown (Jim), Jessica Moss, Kayla Gaut (Gary), Lindsey Moss, Josh Moss, Jerica Moss, Juliet Moss, and Bradley Davidson; five great-grandchildren, Adriana Brown, Jeremiah Foster, Braxton Gaut, Draylon Lattimore, and Brady Gaut; and one sister, Vivian Byars, of Glendale; and special friends, John and Patti Major.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Randy "Flip" Moss, a brother, J.C. Smith, and two sisters, Doris Whitener and Merle Ellis.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 2nd, 2018, from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm at the Tabernacle of Love, 737 Cherokee Falls Road. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00 pm with Rev. Lucky Earls and Rev. Gregg Martin officiating. Entombment will follow at Clingman Memorial Gardens. Gary Gaut, Jim Capps, Joe Whitener Jr, Steve Whitener, Ken Wray, John Jones, Jeremy Earls, and Son Scruggs will serve as pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to Tabernacle of Love, 737 Cherokee Falls Road, Blacksburg, SC 29702.

The family will be at the home of Tony and Angie Moss, 140 Bear Creek Road, Blacksburg.
