Rev. Cliff Irvin Sr. age 69, died Friday, August 5, 2015 at Hospice Wendover. Born in Cleveland County on April 27, 1947 he was the son of the late Robert Lee and Annie Conner Irvin. Rev. Irvin was a charter member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. He worked as a mechanic by trade. His passion was God, family and fishing. In addition to his parents, Rev. Irvin is preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Melton.

Rev. Irvin is survived by four sons, Guy Irvin and wife Cindy of Myrtle Beach, SC; Cliff Irvin, Jr. and wife Katie of Shelby; Avery Melton of Rutherfordton; and Ken Farris and wife Tisha of Rutherfordton; two sisters, Dorothy Jenkins and Daisy Williams both of Rutherfordton; a special friend, Linda Bowen and her sons of Shelby; twelve grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 15, 2016 at 11:00 am at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Holland officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 10:00 am until 11:00am.
