Rocky Lee Allison

Rocky Lee Allison, 63, of 1173 99 Island Road, passed away on Thursday, January 16th, 2025, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Kimberly Harris Allison and the son of the late Herbert Oliver Allison and Shirley Jean Gray Allison. Lee formerly worked in construction, but has worked in maintenance at the Hampton Inn for the last several years. Lee has been a fixture around the athletic fields of Cherokee County for many years. He previously coached Pony League Baseball, coached and umpired for Little League Baseball, and served as a volunteer coach for varsity and junior varsity BHS Softball. Lee also loved politics and arguing politics with anyone.

In addition to his wife, Lee is survived by a son Phillip Allison (Dawn); a daughter, Brandi Maynor (Traye); six grandchildren: LeeAnn Maynor (Jacob Patterson), McKenzie Sisk, Emily Maynor (Hunter Green), Skyler Sisk, Jakob Allison, and Joshua Maynor; a great-grandchild, Oliver Patterson, as well as another on the way; a sister-in-law, Marie "Sis" Allison; and his four-legged best friend, Oliver.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ricky Dean Allison and Eugene "Tugene" Allison.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 19th, 2025, from 5:00pm - 7:00pm at Gordon Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 20th, 2025, at 2:00pm in the Gordon Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. Phillip Allison, Jakob Allison, Skyler Sisk, Brian Bailey, Traye Maynor, Hunter Green, Jacob Patterson, and Joshua Maynor will serve as pallbearers.

The family will be at the residence.
