A construction company in Shelby is answering the call to help veterans in Rutherford County and is partnering with the Cpl. Chris S. Ebert Marine Corps League Detachment #1221 in Forest City to make this happen. CPS Construction: Roofing, Window, Siding & Gutters, has agreed to install a new roof on the home of a veteran in need.

Introducing a brand-new event to Uptown Shelby - Falling for Shelby festival. Three Uptown Shelby Business Owners created the event to showcase the restaurants and retail businesses on S. Lafayette St. in Uptown Shelby.

Gardner-Webb University and the Office of Student Engagement will host the Western N.C. Benefit Concert Sunday, Oct. 27, at 5pm in the Brinkley Amphitheater. The event will raise funds and collect donations for disaster relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Helene. Three musical acts will share their talents- The Local Boys, Howltree, and Mason Cole-and offer the community an opportunity to come together in support of those impacted by the storm in western North Carolina.

One of the world's great culinary delicacies, liver mush, will be the center of attention Saturday, October 19 from 9am to 4pm in Uptown Shelby when the 39th annual North Carolina Liver Mush Festival (AKA Mush, Music & Mutts Festival) takes place.

Thanks to young entrepreneur Duncan Blount, things are fixin' to get hot and spicy in the Cleveland County region.
That's because Blount will be throwing open the doors to his new Cleveland Mall store, Shelby Spice, on October 1 where his homemade hot sauce as well as other condiments and gourmet goodies, many made by local folks, will be for sale.

Strike up the band because the Cleveland County Fair is hitting the century mark of operation this year.
The centennial show will open the gates at its traditional location, 1751 E. Marion St., in Shelby on Thursday, Sept. 26 and will be providing fun, food, agricultural displays, music, and mechanical merriment until closing day on Sunday, Oct. 6.

The City of Kings Mountain is proud to bring back a beloved festival, the Mountaineer Days Heritage Festival, scheduled for October 12, 2024.
The festival kick-off will begin Friday, October 11th, at 7 p.m., when country music artist, author, and Kings Mountain native Jimmy Wayne will perform at the Joy Performance Center.

The third annual Earl Scruggs Music Festival came to a close Sunday evening after country music icon Tanya Tucker brought concert goers to their feet with her popular "Delta Dawn" singing from the Foggy Mountain Stage.

Transportation Administration of Cleveland County, Inc. (TACC) is a non-profit agency that provides general public transportation for Cleveland County residents.TACC started back in April 1988 in an uptown Shelby location before moving to a spot at the corner of Double Shoals road and NC18. It settled in its present location at 952 Airport Road, Shelby in July 1999. TACC's white and blue vans are a familiar sight in and around the county.

The Extension Master Gardener SM Association of Cleveland County invites the community to participate in the Great Southeast Pollinator Census on August 23-24.
Participating is easy, and anyone can do it. Pick a spot in your garden, yard, local park or other outdoor location. Choose a pollinator plant to observe, any blooming plant that has insect activity. Spend 15 minutes observing the plant and count and categorize the insects that land on it. The community can also join members of the local Master Gardener volunteers at the Foothills Farmers' Market in Shelby on Saturday, August 24 to participate.
