Shelby -- William Smith Jones, affectionately known as "Bo", 85, of 911 Thore Road, passed away on Saturday, July 2nd, 2022, at his home.

Born in Shelby, NC, he was the son of the late Dewey Smith Jones and Gusse Beam Jones. William formerly worked in Education and served his country in the US Air Force.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Wendall Jones of Charlotte, NC, Mark Jones (Betsy) of Shelby NC, and John R Taylor (Desire) of Oakboro NC, one daughter, Regina Pitman (Curt), of Shelby NC, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, July 6th at 11am in Poplar Springs Baptist Church cemetery with Dr. Paul Hounshell and Mr. Jack Waters officiating. Eddie Price, Billy Shook, David Scruggs, Dennis Blanton, Charlie Jones, and Jack Mayes will serve as pallbearers.

The family will be at the residence.
