Allen Lee Peterson Sr., age 66, died Thursday, November 24, 2016 at Carolinas Medical Center-Cleveland. Born in Gaston County on January 9, 1950 he was the son of the late John Willie and Leola Fender Peterson. He was a retired long haul truck driver. In his free time Allen, enjoyed working on cars. In addition to his parents, Allen is preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Taylor Peterson; a brother, Bobby Peterson; his son, Chad Peterson and a sister, Shirley McDaniel.

Allen is survived by three sons, Allen "Bumper" Peterson Jr. and wife Michelle of McAdenville, Michael Peterson and wife Rachel of Springwood, and James "Russell" Peterson and wife Angie of Lattimore; nine grandchildren, Chuck, Chad, Chase, Stephanie, Paige, Chelsea, Michelle, Brandy, and Samantha; seven great grandchildren, Michael, Stormy-Shane, Gracelin, Nahla, Kinlee, Braxton, and Trinity; a sister, Willie Mae Propst and husband Ronnie of Stanley, and three brothers, Richard Peterson and wife Pat of Mt. Holly, Jerry Peterson and Cletus Peterson both of Dallas.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2016 at 4:00 pm in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 3p.m. to 4 p.m.
