Amanda Norman Hollifield

Amanda Norman Hollifield, affectionately known by "Mandy", won her seven year battle with cancer and gained her place in heaven on Thursday, August 22nd at the Wendover House in Shelby.
Mandy was the daughter of Ann Norman and the late Gene Norman. In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by her grandfather, Robert Silver and father-in-law, Eckles Hollifield. Mandy grew up in Shelby where she met the love of her life Duane Hollifield in 1985 and then went on to marry him in 1987. Mandy's no-nonsense but compassionate attitude paved the way for her greatest accomplishment, being the caregiver of her stay at home daughter, Kasey for over 36 years. Mandy had a great love for animals , especially dogs. Mandy also enjoyed photography in her spare time as well as keeping a cool clean car.
Mandy is survived by her husband of 37 years, Duane Hollifield of Lawndale, North Carolina; two daughters, Kasey Hollifield, of Lawndale, North Carolina and Elizabeth Anderson and her husband Dwayne, of Cookeville, Tennessee; one stepson, Josh Hollifield and his wife Brandi, of Kings Mountain, North Carolina; her brother, Donny Norman and his girlfriend, Carolyn Poston, of Lawndale, North Carolina; one granddaughter, Lily Anderson of Cookeville, Tennessee; one grandson, Levi Hollifield of Kings Mountain, North Carolina and lastly her favorite dog, Weezie.
Per Mandy's wishes there will be no services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wendover of Hospice House, 953 Wendover Heights Dr., Shelby, NC 28150 or Clifford's Army Rescue, PO BOX 370, Earl, NC 28038.
Mandy will always be an incredible woman capable of things few had the strength to handle. She will be missed tremendously by all who knew her.
