Anthony "Tony" Lynn Jones, Sr., 60 of Lawndale, passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, July 18, 2024.

Born in Lincoln County, NC on December 23, 1963, he was the son of the late Richard Marshall Jones and Brenda Jones. He was a faithful member of Gilgal Baptist Church. Tony devoted 33 years of his life to Timken Corporation and for the last year he found happiness working at the local hardware store. In recent years Tony and Sandi found a love for traveling the world together and he also shared many memories of working on a hobby truck with his grandson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his birth mother, Carolyn Sue Simmons Jones and his son, Anthony Jones, Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Sandi Ledford Jones along with his daughters, Heather Jones (Ashley), Sara Westmoreland (Jeremy), Ivy Smith (Michael) and Laura Green; grandchildren, Cayton Jones, Madison Jones, Reagan Smith, Nashville Smith, Memphis Smith, Olivia Westmoreland and awaiting arrival of 7th grandchild Piper Green. Tony is also survived by his brothers, David Jones (Fe) and Bill Hendrik; sister, Angie Laughlin (Tony) and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 21, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at 3:00 pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel.
