The retirees have fished three events since last report. One on Lake Hickory, Lake Norman and Lake Wylie. On Lake Hickory, Little Earl (age 70) and John Proctor picked up the win with 12.78, they anchored this with a 4.75 large mouth, which took big bass of the day. Doug Sparrow and David O'Shields had 8.70 to claim second and in third was Darrell Hager and Roger Neal with 7.24.

Every Friday evening since the beginning of September, a number of local families have gathered in the fellowship hall of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, just next door to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Cleveland County (BGCCC) on West Sumter Street in Shelby.
