Barbara Elizabeth Wallace Cook, 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, July 22, 2024 at White Oak Manor in Shelby, NC.

Born in Cleveland County on January 19, 1935 she was the daughter of the late Ralph E. Wallace and Corrine Humphries Wallace. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Frank Joseph Cook and Loy White as well as her brothers Joel Wallace and Charles Wallace.

Barbara is survived by her three loving daughters, Barbara Ann White Mitchell, Linda White McGrath and Deborah White Withers (Scott, Sr.), as well as, three grandchildren, Tammy Mauney, Meghan Withers, and Scott Withers, Jr. (Maddie). Also left to cherish her memory is her great granddaughter, Layla Grace Watts and sisters, DoraAnn Bowen and Shirley Adams.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Monday July 29, 2024 in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home with Rev. Renee Bingham offering words of encouragement for those in attendance. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service in Cleveland Memorial Park.

Barbara volunteered at the Neal Senior Center of Shelby for many years and was an active member of Mary's Grove Community Church in Kings Mountain.
