Barry Martin Canipe

Barry Martin Canipe, age 42, of Hudson, N.C. passed away suddenly on March 3, 2025 of natural causes at his home with his beloved dog Indie by his side.

Barry was born to Charles and Gail (Brooks) Canipe on April 12, 1982. He graduated from Burns High School in 2000 . Barry went on to further his education at Appalachian State University completing his Bachelor of Science in Physics in 2011 then his Masters of Science in Engineering Physics in 2013. For the past 11 years Barry was a valued and dedicated member of Exela Pharma Sciences in Lenoir, N.C. where he served as Senior Principal Engineer.

Barry enjoyed many genres of music and was a talented musician as well, playing several instruments such as guitar, piano, upright bass and had recently began teaching himself violin. Barry's hands and brain constantly sought active engagement. He also took an interest in the Nascar circuit pulling for his favorite driver Chase Elliott and was looking forward to attending future races. He developed a love for history and collected a treasure trove of complete series DVDs.

Those who knew Barry will remember him for his genuine brilliance which was only outshone by his soft spoken patience, willingness to help and teach others and his compassion for all living things. His back deck was a frequent breakfast nook for a variety of stray cats, 'possums, raccoons and even an occasional skunk. His dog Indie was well loved and he spared no expense in making her happy. His daily commute to work involved first a stop to drop Indie off at her daycare All God's Creatures Great and Small where she flourished. He never wanted Indie to feel lonely.

Barry was the first to put others needs before himself and was a dedicated son to his parents and Dad to his dog Indie. His passing leaves an intense sadness and a profound sense of incompleteness in all of our hearts.

Barry is survived by his parents Charles and Gail (Brooks) Canipe, his brother Timothy Canipe (Glenda) and their children, Leslie(Todd), Charlie, Jacob, Kayley, Brittany, Austin, Abby and Landon.
