Billie Martin McDaniel, 93, died Sunday, February 12, 2023.

Born in Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late John and Sallie Elliott Martin. Billy was a member of New Camp Creek Baptist Church and retired from AT&T. She was a former music director and organist at Eastside Baptist Church in Kings Mountain and filled in at various other churches over the years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her seven brothers and sisters; and her grandson, Brian Kingbird.

She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Kingbird of Waxhaw and Charlotte Bridges and Howard Holland of Shelby; grandchildren, Greg Kingbird and wife Beth, Mark Debruler and wife Krystal and Ashely Carroll and husband Allen; and great-grandchildren, Seth, Chloe, Lucas, Dylan and Kayden.

Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel in Kings Mountain, with the Rev. Richard Stroup officiating. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mountain Rest Cemetery. Funeral services are entrusted to Clay-Barnette Funeral Home & Aquamation in Kings Mountain.
