Billy Wayne Freeman, 82, went to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Atrium Health Cleveland.

A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Duffy Freeman Sr. and Mary Dee Hoyle Freeman. Billy was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church, retired from PPG after 34 years of service, and later worked for American MTS. He had a hobby of making airplanes and helicopters out of cans.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Duffy Freeman Jr.; and grandson, Craig Page.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Geneva Thrift Freeman of the home; son, David Freeman and wife Cindy, Thomas Freeman and Jimmy Freeman and wife Sandra, all of Shelby; sisters, Nancy Brown of Shelby and Linda Martin and husband Hubert of Gaffney; grandchildren, Jonathan Freeman, Emily Freeman, Bradley Freeman and fiancée Chastity Davis and Matthew Freeman; and great grandson, Connor Freeman. Funeral services will be held 2:00PM, Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Bethel Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Tim Sims officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, in the church. Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church building fund, 606 S.
