Brenda Sue Byars Roach

Brenda Sue Byars Roach, 79, of 2317 McCraw Road, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby.

Born in Mooresboro, she was the daughter of the late Broadus H. Byars and Minnie Greene Byars. She was the devoted wife of Douglas Wayne Roach for 61 years and adored her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved Jesus and was a faithful member of Camps Creek Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and loved flowers. Everyone who knew her loved her dearly for her sweet spirit, beautiful smile and giving heart.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Michael Roach of Mooresboro, NC; two daughters, Tois Taylor (Steve) of Kings Mountain, NC and Beth Ladd (Jamie) of Mooresboro, NC; a brother, Willie Byars of Mooresboro, NC; a sister, Ruth Sexton of Hendersonville, NC; five grandchildren, Whitney Krawczyk (Tony), Makayla Roach, Keri Swink (Jeff), Sarah Roach and McKenzie Drake; two step-grandchildren, Caitlyn Ladd and Alston Ladd; three great-grandchildren, Kendall Swink, Riley Krawczyk and Lily Krawczyk. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Hubert Byars and a sister, Janice Harris.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until 3:00 PM on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at Camps Creek Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM at the Church with Reverend Steve Durham officiating and Reverend Steve Taylor assisting. Interment will be in the Camps Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
