Buddy Hamrick, 75, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2023 at Atrium Health Cleveland.

He was born in Shelby, NC to the late O.V Hamrick, Jr. and Beverly Clark Hamrick and graduated from Shelby High School in 1966. He later attended Wake Forest University and graduated with a History degree.

Buddy was a member of First Baptist Church of Shelby. He was active at Trinity Baptist in Gaffney. In recent times, he led prayer meetings on Wednesday nights at the home in Vale, NC. He would take care of the cat and enjoy walks around the property.

He was an avid follower of Wake Forest University sports, holding season tickets for several years.

His career was as the assistant manager of the family business, Shelby Paint & Glass.

In addition to his parents, Buddy is preceded in death by two sisters, Claire Hamrick Brown and Linda Hamrick Jones.

Buddy is survived by two brothers in law. David Brown and Don Jones. Left to cherish his memory are niece: Loren Lail and nephews: Daniel and Paul Brown as well as various great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Buddy will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 20, 2023 in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends an hour before the service.

A private burial will take place later at Sunset Cemetery.
